EDUCATING THE IMPACT OF COCONUT SPROUT ON MATERNAL HYPERTENSION IN TANGERANG, INDONESIA: A CASE STUDY

ABSTRACT Background: The effects of hypertension during pregnancy have caused health problems serious to mother and fetus. Hypertension can affect fetal development, sudden maternal death. One source plant nutrients that optimize the number blood cells is coconut sprout. Purpose: Coconut sprouts are high in carbohydrates, fiber, antioxidants help reduce risk pregnancy, however, not many women aware this information. Methods: This study attempts inform pregnant benefit sprout using lectures demonstration along with primary centre activities. A pretest a posttest were conducted assess improvement knowledge. total participants who participated activities was 50 people. age range 23-38 years old. Result: Knowledge before presentation material low, an average score 35.41%, compared 64.55% after explanation. comparison participants' knowledge education 29.14%. educational dissemination Binong Public Health Center area add, expand, improve impact pregnancy. Conclusion: Activities needed be continued checking up urine, protein direct application controlling laboratory results, increasing socialization, promotion about hypertension, use general public.
